Fabulous by 40! Day 3

You'll notice that she isn't eating much starch at all. There is plenty of protein and some fat to keep the body satified and endorphins flowing.

Most of the carbs are fruit and veggies. Fruit and vegetables are low glycemic and have more fiber than grain based carbs. Beans also have more fiber than grains which slows down the absorption of the carbs into the bloodstream, causing less insulin to need to be released.

When insulin is released, fat burning is halted or impaired until it has done its job, which is leveling out the blood sugar. The more even you can keep your blood sugar level, the more fat your body will be able to burn.
